Our islands are still recovering from Hurricane Ian and not all businesses are open.

The Parrot Nest is one of the Old-Sanibel Inns located on the quiet East End of the island. Since 1955, our charming inn has been welcoming visitors and until the early 1960's they were brought to our shores from the mainland by ferryboat.

Welcome to

Our six cottages have received a full make-over to give you that warm cottage living experience. We are within walking distance to the historic Sanibel Lighthouse and fishing pier, beautiful shelling beaches, shopping and restaurants.

Carisa and Becky - January, 2020 – Cavendish, VT and Clovis, CA

The weather, biking everywhere, Pinocchio’s ice cream shop next door, birds, and a relaxed feeling all the time were our favorite things about our stay.

We loved Sanibel Fresh – amazing breakfasts and Blue Giraffe – breakfast. Rosie’s Café – home style delicious.

Walking to the Lighthouse for sunrise, riding bikes up into Captiva, ate at Bubble Room, Kayak through the mangroves, Ding Darling, Everglades tour (off Island). Really had the best time seeing such interesting wildlife – saw manatees kayaking in Tarpon Bay. One swam under the kayak we were in. Up close alligator sightings on the Everglades tour. Beaches and biking every day were really fun. Will definitely be back!!

Check the laundry room for sunscreen and aloe before you purchase some!!

Ann and Al B – January, 2020 – Charleston, SC

Love the cottage and the lush surroundings – This is a place to totally relax!

Just felt like a cheeseburger one night – Cheeburger Cheeburger was great. Breakfast/lunch at the Sunset Grill was excellent. You can walk to the Lighthouse Café for a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Our favorite memory was a fabulous birthday dinner at the “Mad Batter”. This is dining at the finest – food and service are excellent!

Tish T - January, 2020 - Ocean City NJ

Love this spot – will be back!
Favorite thing about the Parrot Nest – the patio

Joy and Jackie L – January, 2020 – Burke, VA

The proximity to everything was fantastic! We went charter fishing, shelling, took walks on the beach and ate our hearts out!

Endless Summer charter was fantastic. We ate at George and Wendy’s, Sunset Grille and the Over Easy Café – none of them disappointed! We caught a 37” snook, had great times with my husband and sister who came to visit as well! We will definitely be back.

Phil and Jess – January, 2020 – Minneapolis, MN

We loved exploring the island on the beach cruiser bikes. Recommend the Island Cow and the Lighthouse Café’s muffins.

Favorite memory was sunrise on the beach.

The S family – December, 2019 – Kansas City, MO

Favorite things – the beaches and shelling. We loved using the bicycles and went everywhere from the Lighthouse to the Ding Darling Sanctuary.

We loved the Pink Flamingo, Grandma Dots, the Lighthouse Café, Baileys General Store and Jerry’s Market. We loved the early morning walks on the beaches and watching the waves.

“Would definitely recommend this location! The owner was very responsive and the on site manager and maintenance guy were very helpful and friendly. The room was exactly as advertised and is walking distance to some restaurants and local favorites. They also offer complimentary bikes which we used to ride to the beach, less than 10 minute bike ride. We'll be back.”

“The cottage is a super adorable stylish space! The courtyard grounds are the most relaxing with a hammock for relaxing, a gazebo with a fire pit, and chairs and picnic tables scattered throughout. Their is also a space with a grill for you to BBQ. The location is extremely convenient - walking distance to the small plaza at the end of the street- best breakfast at the Lighthouse Cafe! The lighthouse beach access is just a 4 min drive so you could easily bike it and save on parking. We will definitely be back!”

Kathy and John K – March, 2020 – Duncannon, PA

Loved biking to the beach/shelling/the décor is so relaxing!! The private patio was great. It was like having our own little island on the island.

We drove out to Turner Beach on Captiva early in the morning. There the shells are 3 feet deep to dig through up against the jetty rocks. Island Pizza was great – friendly service. Bike ride to the beach is safe and only 5 minutes.

My husband and I were trying to out do each other while shelling!
So peaceful and quiet here.

We are here on a mini 4 day getaway. We are relaxed. Sanibel has been on my bucket list for a long time!

The M family – February, 2020 – Rochester, NY

We loved the location, our spacious room, and walking to the beach.

Timbers Seafood restaurant and market. Sunrise, sunset, moonrise (!) on the beach.
Ice cream (Pinocchio’s) around the corner! Pastry too!
The Sunday Farmers Market was fabulous – wonderful food to last the week. Ride bikes, parking is tough!

Nancy and Paul – February, 2020 – Wisconsin

We love birds. And right here at the Parrot Nest are an Osprey, an Osprey nest, Piliated Woodpecker, White Ibis, Palm Warblers, Blue headed Virios, Mourning Doves, Eurasion Collar Doves, Brown Pelicans and even American Robins!!

We loved the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. We took the Tram Tour, the Pontoon boat ride and a guided Kayak tour. Saw lovely birds and landscape on the auto tour and the hiking/biking tour. Everyone was friendly and fun.

Went on a Sunset cruise on Captiva Island. We ate at the Bubble Room Restaurant. Very fun place, great food and fabulous cake.

Took two off island excursions. One to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. About an hour away. Trails and Wood Storks. We took a 2 ½ hour drive to Good Spirits Lounge at the north end of Lake Okeechobee. Great sandwiches and onion rings.

Wonderful and lovely here. We hope to be back.

Ashley and Melissa – January, 2020 – Indiana

Favorites were the beach and riding the bikes around the island.

Recommend Pinocchio’s Ice Cream and the Lighthouse Café.

The bunnies everywhere at dusk and seeing dolphins swimming at the beach were favorite memories.

They make these cottages in a way that it feels like you are in your own world no matter how many people are here. This is the best place ever!! Very peaceful.

“Location location location! Cute beach vibe! huge bed! nice and cold, a wonderful place to escape the Florida heat. This place is super close to the fishing pier and there's a bait and tackle shop across the street that has everything you need. Also, just steps away is the lighthouse cafe, where we had a fabulous breakfast. They get very busy, but you can call first and put your name down. you're welcome! I'm so glad I found Kim's place. It's fun to explore Sanibel and captiva, and this was a perfect home base. Kim herself is quick to respond and a pleasure to communicate with. thanks !”
